  • Use the right towel – Pre-dry your hair with a microfiber towel once you have stepped out of the shower. Do not use a terry cloth towel as it can tangle your hair too much, increase the fizziness and may also cause it to break.
  • Don’t blow dry right away – The heat from the blow dryer can damage your hair. Let your hair dry naturally. If you must use a blow dryer, you can just a bit of adjustment. Blow dry your hair once only when it’s 70% dry. This will give time for your hair cuticles to close up. Doing this will reduce the heat damage on your hair.

Brush Your Hair The Right Way

There are several things to do instead of just combing your hair with a comb or a hairbrush. Hair breakage is often caused by hair knots and tangles. Here are the steps that you need to do:-

  • Detangle hair in the shower – With the conditioner still on your hair, you can detangle it by using a wide-toothed comb. This is also the best time to do so because your hair is soft. It’s easier to detangle.
  • Get the right comb – A metal brush or a round brush is for blow-drying your hair so you have to avoid it. For removing knots and tangles, use a boar bristle brush, stagger-toothed comb, or wide-toothed comb instead.
  • Ways to brush hair – Start combing a few inches above the ends and brush hair downwards. Then slowly work your way up to the scalp.
