Methven Brings Cheap Sexy Lingerie Manufacturing to Los Angeles
Los Angeles is known as a place to make high-end blue jeans. However, new designer Kaila Methven is aiming at manufacturing high-end lingerie for domestic garment manufacturing centers.
Before starting her fashion career less than two years ago, she used a custom Cheap Sexy Lingerie label called Made to Adore – where the bra retails for more than $20,000 – this novice designer focuses on selling her to ordinary consumers. More affordable label, Mrs. Methven, bra retails for $30.
After receiving her education at the Paris Fashion Institute, she spent her teens in Paris. She returned to Los Angeles in 2014 and founded her company. But her brand is still just starting.
In January of this year, she opened a studio and office for her company, Mrs. Messvin, in the Gerry Building in downtown Los Angeles. On February 17th, she organized a fashion show for Lady Lady Methven and her ready-to-wear collections Latrodectus and Mademoiselle at the Skybar Nightclub on the roof of the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, California.
It is easy to make jeans in Los Angeles because there are many factories that make blue jeans. However, not many factories can make Cheap Sexy Lingerie. But the area has the talented sewers that make Cheap Sexy Lingerie and designers can find them.
“Discovering these women is challenging. I interviewed 100 people, but I only work with 20 people,” she said. The designer set up the course and she taught her sewer how to make her Cheap Sexy Lingerie meet her specifications. For ready-to-wear, she made a prototype. Then, her sewers practice by making Cheap Sexy Lingerie.
After the exercise, Methven and her team went through these outfits. They assess where they are doing right and making mistakes. Then, they made this line of Cheap Sexy Lingerie directly.
Although Los Angeles may not be the capital of Cheap Sexy Lingerie manufacturing, it is easier to make Cheap Sexy Lingerie in this area, said Stacy Anderson, founder of Kent Los Angeles lingerie series.
“Cheap Sexy Lingerie is definitely not the largest category produced in Los Angeles or North America, although it is increasingly possible,” Anderson said. “For many brands, taking into account more manufacturing options and the history and heritage in this area, going abroad to Asia or Europe looks more feasible. Scale is also a major consideration. For us, production in Los Angeles has been A major source of pride, whether it be in terms of brand origin, or able to establish such a close relationship with those who are engaged in our work. ”
Although Messwan helped the crowd in the manufacture of Cheap Sexy Lingerie, she also nurtured a niche for herself. According to Jason Amirmajdi, a lingerie and swimwear retailer, she is one of the few designers to customize lingerie in Los Angeles.
“To be honest, I don’t know anyone else who has done this in Los Angeles. In this regard, she is a real dreamer,” said the owner of Le Bra Lingerie in Beverly Hills, California. “She now has a range.” Her practical daily style is super expensive and women can go to work and still feel sexy.”
At present, most of Methven’s business is customized. For example, for high-end products, Methven hand-crafted golden bronze beads on Latrodectus-labeled Dominatrix bustiers for $5,849. She put a gold chain around her neck, dyed a peacock feather, and on the back was a silk tulle train. Hydrogel packs as a liner to a bodice. Methven says it is more comfortable than fabric fillers. It also allows the breast to have more activity in the corset.
As she moves toward a new direction of more consumer-friendly style, Methven plans to wholesale her ready-to-wear collections to major department stores and high-end boutiques. Methven’s ready-to-wear styles on the Lady Methven website include the La Petite Cachotiere tunic, which retails for $58 with a lace vest and silk sleeves.
Other styles include La Dominatrice Pantie, a black satin brief with triangular cutouts at the waist and back. The retail price is $26. Another look is Le Dangereux Bralette, a triangular bra with black fabric, gold details, adjustable shoulder straps and an elastic waistcoat. Its retail price is 42 dollars.
She predicts that Mrs. Methven will become a lifestyle company that lives in a few boutiques around the world. “It makes me happy,” she said about her clothing direction. “It makes me feel more creative and meet the needs of the mass market. It’s not even a profitable thing. I hope you feel beautiful.”
